The development includes new track construction, station redesigns, and numerous flyovers/underpasses. Similar projects are underway in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, with an increased focus on these regions, which received significantly less funding during the previous government's tenure. The allocation for Punjab has also significantly increased, rising from 225 crore rupees during the UPA government to 4935 crore rupees in the current budget.
