Maintenance - My Side lower berth was narrow, I guess, there was a sliding cover thingy which flattened the gaps and it was removed, leaving a huge gap between berth and panel below Window.

Mostly weeklies and special trains use it. Trains just don't wanna bypass Lucknow. It doesn't help that the route is slow as well. Though it has been electrified completely and some doubling is taking place, so a few long distance trains can be diverted via it.
The Bahraich route still hasn't been completely utilized. Bahraich still lacks proper connectivity to GKP via the main line. A special passenger/express runs via the loop line from Gonda but none via Gonda-Basti-Gorakhpur.

Trains like Sapt Kranti , Saharsa Amritsar Garib Rath, Ganga Sutlej, Amritsar Howrah Mail, Danapur Jan Sadharan etc have no business coming to Lucknow. They already come filled before Lucknow itself and go beyond Lucknow filled like that only.
These could've been diverted via Sitapur as Speed is literally not a major concern for their run.

I don't think that HWH-ASR can be diverted since it comes via PBH route. But yes, other trains you mentioned, should be atleast tried to run via STP route once.
It is a sad reality is in IR; when NG & MG routes converted to BG IR present it as they will flood it with trains these route after gauge conversion. But in reality these routes after BG conversion suffers for those trains which are in MG era they have.
What is have IR logic, divisional / zonal constraints, problems but connectivity with new routes and lines are not tried as they have to be.

True, LJN-STP route has been gauge converted upto Shahgarh now; however, apart from passenger trains; it only has the GKP-MLN Express[ which is basically a train for daily pax] and LTT-STP Express.
