Re# 6033374-5
How is this going to spoil CBE connectivity ? The occupancy will remain as it is. Passengers bound for PGT will get down at CBE and take a bus and still reach faster as compared to going via POY. Similarly in return direction nobody will board train from PGT at 3am in the morning. There was an article today in papers which mentions that even PGT division is not sure if this extension will benefit. What I have heard is that SA division wanted to decongest CBE, hence wanted extension to PGT. Because of scheduled maintenance block, route via Walayar was not possible. MDU division didnt want to deploy resources just for one train and so probably they didnt want to terminate the train there. The result of all this is complete waste of resources. Will benefit POY to some extent which is the only good thing that I can see.
