I would add a point more - Reserved ticket allows passengers from intermediary stations to have comfortable journey even in a well packed train.

And let me tell you, having a reserved ticket means you can chill on the train without having to show up crazy early, like how folks line up forever for 12533 @ LJN.
One more thing - reserved tickets let folks from middle stops on the route have a smooth ride even when the train is jam-packed. Like MFKA to JOP on 20402. Peace!
