I have confirm ticket from Surat to Mumbai central in 22946 Saurashtra Mail.

I want to reach Santacruz (Local station in Mumbai). So I intend to get down at Borivali instead of going till Mumbai central.

comes in between Borivali and Mumbai Central.

So do I need to buy new LOCAL ticket from Borivali to Santacruz? Or Ticket of Saurashtra mail will also be considered as valid?

If it is reserved ticket then it should be considered as valid ticket because ultimately you will be travelling in lower class.
