The RPF acted on a tip and conducted a raid on the train with the assistance of the Anti Human Trafficking Unit, the RPF team, and the Bachpan Bachao Andolan. The contractors were arrested and the children were handed over to Childline. The contractors reportedly lured the children's parents with money and promised them work in Amritsar's pear orchards.
