what might be the reason that the entire state of BIHAR does not have a single shatabdi? a shatabdi that used to run(patna howrah) has been converted to jan shatabdi some ten years back.
a shatabdi special train should be run from PATNA to LUCKNOW via VARANASI and back leaving patna in the morning and coming back at night. if enjoys nice patronage (which i am sure it will owing to population dense region) can be regularised.

yes, about ten years back the fares were lot high...now as fares have marginally increased, but the level of living and ac travellers has increased in geometric progression, so a shatabdi may be tried...
Even the Howrah (Kolkata )- Malda town Jan Shatabdi is now the Howrah - Malda town Intercity express via Azimgunj . I had learnt that the Jan shatabdi train was unable to make good profit from passenger fare & thats why it was converted to a normal intercity train.
its just reason i think me ne ye kahi parha tha ke patna shtabdi aur bokaro shtab di q band ho gai is liye kha me ne waisey ranchi se shtabdi ab bhi chalti hai waisey bhi rajhdhani se to aam public travel karti hai jin ko patna se dilli jana hota hai jin ki family dehli me rehti hai lekin shtabdi to businesman ke liye hoti hai jinhey bas ek din me kaam nipta ke aana hota hai
once raichur-gadwal line gets commercialized we can expect janshatabdi hyderabad-bangalore which can complete journey in 8 hrs
