ye to kuch bhi nahi hai... regular train mumbai-howrah mail (via ald) got cancelled one day due to late running of previous train :)
Yes what was the need of running the special on the same route covering same stations with pathetic speed :/
Only reason i feel was that for 12520 from Kamakhya once the quota for bookings till Patna is exhausted then the WL is not issued, this might have prompted for a special run (but its useless)...

A Very bad move from ur side....it seems you dont have any knowledge of the infrastructures required for Rake Maintenance...LTT & CSTM already caters to hundreds of trains from all across the country & they're doing the job with utmost sincerity...I've personally visited the Kamakhya Coaching Terminal & would say one of the best I've seen...This train's primary maintenance henceforth should be done @ KYQ only...Why to saturate the already over saturated Mumbai Terminals?
But Sir Ji are such HUGE and MINDLESS delays acceptable? Passengers are paying a premium amount to travel, What about passenger COMFORT? Good that there are only few trains on this route else people will easily DUMP this train if such ABNORMAL delays continue

Another bad move from NFR is that that Tatkal bookings for 12520 to LTT are allowed only from KYQ-NBQ-NCB, From NJP onwards no bookings are possible because of which the Tatkal quota yesterday managed to attract only some 30 bookings
