A brief report on the possibility of introduction of Shatabdi between secunderabad and vizag.
If we think practically it seems to be possible to run a shatabdi between these two cities. The present fastest train on this route is the duronto which covers the distance of 701 kms in 9 hrs and 30 min, running with a maximum speed of 120 kmph. This travel time can be reduced by 1 hr with LHB rakes of a shatabdi running at MPS of 135-140 kmph. The only thing is to reduce the travel time from 9hr:30min to 8hr:30 min. Seems station at Gunadala will be ready by march 2014 as per media reports. If its done VSKP-SC new train will bypass BZA. That means minimum 45 to 1 hrs save in time. So 8 hr 45 to 9 hrs is possible without updating tracks. Even for that journey water filling also not required. LP change can be done at RJY.
