The last electric poles present in the Takkolam station which is on the Chengalpattu-Arakkonam line. The Takkolam-Arakkonam line is not electrified which is 7km
These are the communication poles which are present in INS Rajali which receives the signal from the vessels in Bay of Bengal. If the line between Takkolam to Arakkonam is electrified then the electrical polarity will be a hindrance to the reception of the signals.
So IR has planned to construct a new line from Takkolam to Melpakkam bye pass near arakkonam , so that the trains like NCJ-CSTM express, MDU-LTT express and PDY passenger can prefer this route and Tiruttani can be declared as a halt for Arakkonam as both of the towns are well connected. We can notice the poles being laid but suddenly the works came to a screeching halt.
Very useful info Kadal raasa :) If proposed connection happens, then south bound trains can easily use this route bypassing AJJ/MAS.
Thank you Ashok bhai . If this is completed then MEMU services from AJJ-CGL is expected. Moreover Kanchipuram can be connected well with rest of India as its an important pilgrim for Hinduism , Buddhism and Jainism
True. such connecting lines are the need of hour as with in a state it helps in providing better connectivity. Otherwise, it will be like MDU-MS line and CBE-MAS lines which will be ruling whole TN :(
