So IR has planned to construct a new line from Takkolam to Melpakkam bye pass near arakkonam , so that the trains like NCJ-CSTM express, MDU-LTT express and PDY passenger can prefer this route and Tiruttani can be declared as a halt for Arakkonam as both of the towns are well connected. We can notice the poles being laid but suddenly the works came to a screeching halt.
