I've seen few members have repeatedly asked why 12435/36 Dibrugarh New Delhi Rajdhani is one of the slowest Rajdhani? I dont know whether this question is valid or not but directly or indirectly repeated questions from IRI members have forced Rail Board to think also...So we can see previously Dibrugarh Rajdhani which used to cover GHY NJP(408 km) Single Line section in 7 hrs have now been forced to cover in only 6 Hrs 10 mts..So this has repeatedly pressurized the zone especially APDJ division to go as high upto 110 kmph in various stretches of the division & that has directly prompted to speed up other trains also...So in past 6-7 years there has been a wide gap of running time in Elephant Corridor & Non-Elephant Corriodor....I request members please dont ask for such thing again in future...Its not healthy at all...whatever speed trains are running please learn to accept...dont...

the tracks from NCB to NJP have been strenghthened for trains running upto 120KMPH......running of trains in this stretch has excelled over the period of time and other trains like saraighat have been maintainig..look at the time 12423 takes between ncb and njp...its mere 2 hours flat...........great acievement............if doubling is done ,i feel the time will be reduced to another 15 minutes.............but this agressive schedule is maintained by some trains only......after doubling most trains will take lesser time................

Yes NBQ NOQ NJP section is one of the best maintained sections in Eastern India...though no train has been able to achive 120 kmph till now...95-97 is the ideal speed & in some rare cases it goes upto 104 but not above that...even in Katihar Division which is completely doubled(& other than Barsoi there is no significant curve),we can see numerous PSR & TSR....but in this particular section I've hardly seen any speed restriction...normal trains loose time only because of crossing...& trains like North East,Rajdhani & Saraighat actually covers NCB->RQJ section in flat 70 mts, because of division change & approach to NJP,extra 50 mts is wasted b/w RQJ-NJP...in fact maintenance of APDJ division along the APDJ-SGUJ section is also one of the best...but due to numerous curves,Rivers & Elephant corridor,in most of the cases trains are unable to exceed 85 kmph speed.

though now 2 speed restrictions have been implemented as experienced recently...one is b/w SJRR-GDX over Torsa River of 30 kmph...another is 15 kmph b/w NQH-JPE(constrcution of 2 RuB at the approach of JPE)...otherwise I've never ever really seen any speed restriction b/w NBQ-RQJ.
