there are many long distant trains towards Assam that are running via SGUJ & will be running in future to de-congest NCB track & also benefit the people of dooars...for eg

terminating at SGUJ will be ideal...need to utilise the MG platforms.....agree SGUJ-NJP IS SUPER ULTRA SLOW ZONE...........SGUJ-BXT/HDB should always terminate at njp......
AFTER DOING ALL SORT OF PERMUTATION AND COMBINATION.njp still needs more platforms and remodelling(e-aligning some of the lines) of yard to facilitate freight movement................

there are parallel platforms for NG line as well from SGUT to SGUJ.......which remains vacant for almost whole of the day....if a provision is made for BG over it then trains can temporarily rest there also,so that shunting can easily be performed between SGUJ AND SGUT.............,But I suppose there are vacant spaces at SGUT
