more... announcing a beginning of a new day. It was just an ordinary day for rest of the people, but certainly not for railfans like me. Today was special; ‘cause today, for the first time ever in the history of Pune, a WAP series loco was going to reach the shores... It was not just beginning of a new day, but a new chapter, a new era. The excitement and anticipation griping in my mind was just something else, something which I cannot explain in words...

Today, history is made!! Fantasy and Dreams turned to reality!! A sweet honking faraway brought cheers to railfans like me, a sight which we were waiting for!! At exactly 08.02 hrs, the wait was over!! The honour went to the red beauty 22801 BRC WAP-4E hauling 12940 JP-PUNE SF Express!! Welcome to Pune, dear WAPs... Have a pleasant stay with us!!

Talk about good luck, there was an EMU running ahead of it, which denied railfans to see the red beast in all its fury!! But the blessing in disguise was we had ample time to have a good look at the loco and click not just one but 3-4 snaps!! The beauty cruised towards final destination PUNE letting out short and sweet honks. A new chapter begins in the book of Pune Junction and WAPs would be a regular feature from now on. All eyes now on Tuesday, when the SUPERSTAR NZM-PUNE Duronto arrives with a GZB Monster!!
