Is it possible to leave luggage at a cloak room / locker room which is situated at a station other than the 'Journey Originating Station' but NOT far away from it?
For example, I have a sleeper class ticket booked for journey from CSTM (Mumbai CST) to NGP (Nagpur). I plan to reach Mumbai a few days before the journey starts, in order to do some sightseeing. So, is it possible to leave my luggage at a cloak room situated at a nearby station (at DADAR or MUMBAI CENTRAL or BANDRA TERMINUS etc. where I may put down at arrival via volvo bus/travels) showing my journey ticket starting from CSTM? This way it may save a trip to and fro CSTM station...

Thanks for Reply. Are you sure? Is there any documentation or Railway Rules/Manual where this thing may be referred to? Or anyone you know has ever in such situation?

I have read the F.A.Q.s and have already done some search on Indian railways' websites, but i did not come around anything properly stating whether the luggage could be left at a cloak room which is SITUATED AT a station OTHER THAN originating or destination stations in the journey ticket. IRCM (commercial manual) also doesn't state it properly.
I hope that it is allowed. As it may save time and unessential travel for luggage maintenance. Thanks again.
