THE UNKNOWN DESTINATION...
.
Hello all,
Saturday afternoons are always pleasant aren’t they, irrespective of the weather out there. This is the time where productivity would be at an all-time low in most companies, at least that’s what I think. Well, that’s been the case with me too and a few friends around. Weekends for us are liberating days of the week where we

can do whatever we want and go wherever we want according to our own will.
.
Nothing is clearly planned; a part of the trip might actually have been chalked beforehand which is again unlikely in most of the trips. The very concept of uncertainty, the lack of opportunity and thought to predict what the next course of journey holds for us is what is very liberating. We get back all excited and with a different perspective ready for a week’s work ahead and again comes the Saturday. Next weekend, I guess many here do the same or did the same. For people who don’t relate to what I am going to write in the course of time in this space, please do read it patiently anyway, I am sure you’ll like it.
.
Here’s a lot of travel tales to follow, I am writing these for two reasons, one is for me to not forget what I experienced in case I want to read about it say 10 years down the lane and second, also the most important one is to share my experience with you all.
.
Keep following this space!!
.
Aditya

Great pictures. My dad had taken Boat Mail from Kumbakonam a day before the cyclone hit Dhanushkodi. He used to live in Colombo those days. The next day's train was washed away with all the passengers. He told me the ferry ride to Talaimannar was really scary and he had to wade through knee deep water to reach Talaimannar RS to take a train to Colombo Petah.

S-2:
THE WESTERLY DEVIATION..
.
It so happens that during more than 2 weekends every month, I find myself at Bengaluru with shashank Bhat** or he finds himself in Hosur with me. Well the point is we meet up quite often, on many such occasions also joined by Tejas**, depending on if the place we are heading to is a gourmet’s paradise or not.
...
This is a narrative which is based on a short trip to the West coast from Bengaluru, short because it was only for about 36 Hours including travel. It was Friday morning when shashank spoke about some family event he was expected to attend along with his father and that he was leaving the next day to his paternal hometown somewhere at Kumbala near Mangalore. That’s when he joked if I would like to join, I took the joke seriously and my ticket was therefore booked along with them. There is every reason to worry on our trips if there has been no change of plan in every one hour, so far things were normal.
.
The next evening was our scheduled departure from Yesvantpur in the YPR-CAN(Via MYS) Express for which I had to take the HSRA-YPR DEMU from Hosur to reach on time. Now this was a really tricky situation coz although it was a light day at work my boss wouldn’t give me permission to leave early only for one reason, like many other dubious bosses having disgraceful opinions on their employees conduct outside office, he too is our own version of a Hosur grown HARI SADU. That is when I approached a senior to help, that he did on one condition, he too wanted to join and then happened the booking of another tatkal ticket on Saturday afternoon for departure on the same night, same train, CKWL18.
.
After a joyful Jump from office and reaching home leaping in liberty, few emotional moments awaited. As the sun set that day I still remember vividly, birdies were flying back home honoring the call of dusk, twilight was bearing a sad testimony to the brighter times the day witnessed, I lowered my gaze at my furry best friend Pinky-my house owner's Labrador to bid farewell with an extremely heavy heart. A bark followed pulling me out of the trance and snatching my sock, evidently I was just exaggerating my own emotions and making a total fool of myself, that pooch was never emotional anyway. I could only take back the sock after a long play after which I began to rush to the station and my old friend the TVS railway gate was down again, I was waiting at the other side waiting for my senior and there was absolutely no sign of his bike and obviously him too, riding it.We were determined to head to YPR station by bike in case the DEMU leaves as the gate was down in all probability for the very same train, I spotted the bike and the train almost simultaneously, luckily it was the late running KIK-SBC Passenger which meant we had about 10-15 minute buffer before this reaches Anekal Road owing to the Absolute Block territory.
.
DEMU left HSRA late by 20 mins and reached YPR on time where our rendezvous point with shashank was as usual the 2 mts distance from the first handcuff button of the ticket checking staff's blazer on PF-1 Exit and we headed there to find Nobody..
.
