Even a good number of Hindi speakers wouldn't have voted him either. I am also a Hindi speaker who resides in Paschim Bardhaman but Pawan Singh's candidature from Asansol is not something that went well with me or my family too. Basically these low IQ leaders are just tarnishing the image of Hindi speakers in Bengal like us by portraying us as if his derogatory songs on women is something that Hindi speakers like us approves of. Yes definately a section of the society enjoys his songs but a ghastly generalization like this shouldn't be made that everyone is a fan of his song and just fielding him as the candidate will ensure a win from the constituency where Hindi speakers hold a sway.
