Hariharnath Exp was a fully overnight train service (From Both Ends) for Patna from Kosi region.
This train is announced as SHC SEE Tri-weekly in Rail budget 1989 by RM Madhavrao Scindia. Later made this train daily & Extended upto Banmankhi & Katihar.

This train used to Run via Khagaria-Hasanpur chord Line & Bachhwara SPP Chord Line.
Loco reversal done at SHC, SPJ & BCA.

Nearly 1997, Kosi exp also used to run as Slip train From Forbesgunj to Sonpur with Hariharnath Exp.

Due to GC Conversion in SHC-MNE, SPJ-BJU, BCA-HJP Line, Hariharnath exp was Short originated/terminated at Khagaria & Samastipur.
Lastly cancelled Permanently for Mega Block of KGG-SPJ Line.
