Exynos9611~ 26573 blog postsI guess current TT has slowed down the train....This used to take much lesser time earlier and was a very popular connection train from Kerala for those who wanted to board Coromandal Express from Chennai. Lot of people especially from the defence forces used to use this train from KL towards Chennai and then board Corpmandal exp on their way to Eastern and NE parts. Now this connection no longer works as Coro departure has been preponed.
Should be rerouted via PTJ bypass again. 12601/02 would be more useful for CBE instead. 12683/84 even more so.
Kerala needs it own daily to HWH apart from Vivek. It's too much hassle to transit via MAS like in the past.

Ideally SHM-TVC (bi-weekly) & SHM-NCJ (weekly)...both use same slots I think. If made daily can be of some relief but other trains use this path so if a new train is needed a new slot would have to be formulated. Kolkata is connected to all states in the country through daily trains with probably the only exception being Kerala !!!
I doubt this train is 122 years old. Because there was no BG line beyond Shoranur towards TVC at that time.

For Ernakulam Patna Express, one very rare case where they have 12 Sleeper and 2 general coaches. This is probably one such train which has retained a similar coach composition as that of ICF rake
2AC will be replaced with GS which is very rare. As its being from Sep 17th after ARP should have replaced SL with GS and retain 2AC as its long route the quotas will already be less will get reduced further.
Earlier train only had one 2AC so they retained the same. With 12 sleeper coaches in LHB means at least 960 seats. But you are right ideally all trains should at least have minimum 4 gen coaches
