Following passenger complaints, two stalls on Platform 2 were shut down for overcharging. They were selling water bottles, biscuits, chips, and snacks at inflated prices. The strict action was taken after a recent directive by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during a video conference with top railway officials. He had instructed them to improve sanitation and catering services at stations and on trains. In response, General Manager Amitabh directed all four divisional railway managers to keep a strict watch and carry out special drives to monitor the implementation of these directives.
