As per TT the train gets late by 30mins upto Ernakulam from Katpadi following sections avg of 50-60kmph. So 35mins speedup is min possible in Erkm to TVC considering 5hrs.

No. 12626 New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express, which left Delhi on August 31, will be diverted via Nagpur-Vizianagaram-Duvvada, skipping stops between Nagpur and Vijayawada. The No. 22647 Korba-Kochuveli Express, which departed from Korba on August 31, will bypass stations at Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Gudur, M.G.R. Chennai Central, and other locations, operating via the Kasipet-Renigunta stretch. Even though this train is on the top in generating revenue for SCR still they won't improve this train either converting to SF or giving better coaches in LHB. In India, this is how things are. You don't get what you deserve. This is just like South indian states pay more tax to Center but gets less in return.

I think the only possible reason that I can think of is that they don't want to change the coach composition now given tnat bookings are already going in full swing for Sabarimala season. Conversion to LHB would mean change in coach composition...there may be likely increase in seats in one class & likely reduction in other classes. Doing it in between might not be a good idea. Thjis is just my view! Treain currently has 12 sleeper coach. It is probably the only train remaining to have so many sleeper coach. Conversion to LHB will surely mean some reduction in SL coaches
