## Railways to Upgrade 417 km Track with Automatic Signaling System
The Eastern Central Railway (ECR) is upgrading a 417 km long rail route with an automatic block signaling system. This will improve safety and efficiency by automating the system, eliminating the need for manual signaling. The project will cover the route between Dhanbad and Gaya, a crucial corridor connecting Jharkhand and Bihar.
The automatic block signaling system uses electronic signals to control train movement, enhancing safety by preventing collisions. This system will also enable trains to run at higher speeds, ultimately leading to shorter travel times.
The ECR has already started work on the project and expects to complete it within two years. This upgrade is part of the Indian Railways' larger modernization initiative aimed at improving infrastructure and service quality.
**Modern Signaling System Coming to Gaya Railway Line**
The Indian Railways is installing an Automatic Block Signaling System (ABSS) on the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-Gaya railway section in Jharkhand. This new system will improve safety and efficiency on the line. It will replace the old signaling system, which is manual and prone to errors.
The ABSS uses electronic signals to control train movements. This allows trains to run closer together and at higher speeds, which will shorten travel times. The system also eliminates the possibility of human error, making train travel safer.
The installation of the ABSS is expected to be completed in the next few years.
