If you visit Karnataka, dont miss the Cauvery arts and crafts emporium.
Excerpt from the official website:
Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, (A Government of Karnataka Undertaking) was established in the year 1964 under Companies Act 1956.
objective of the corporation is to preserve, develop and promote handicrafts. Government of India and Government of Karnataka are the share holders in the organization.
Karnataka State is richly endowed with widely practiced, accepted and acclaimed crafts since time immemorial. The major crafts are sandalwood carvings, rosewood inlay, channapatna lacquer ware & toys, Mysore traditional paintings, bidri ware, kinhal toys, Navalgund durries, stone carvings, other wood carvings, traditional jewellery, mirror and embroidery, banana fiber, terracotta, bronze icons, Pile carpets and many more
Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited is the pioneer in establishing 13 craft complexes across Karnataka state wherever there is concentration of artisans for various crafts. Common facility centers are also built at these craft complexes for the benefit of artisans.
4544 artisans are registered with the corporation and over 50,000 artisans are indirectly depending upon the corporation for preserving, developing and promoting their craftsmanship. The corporation has provided 1222 living cum work sheds to the eligible and deserving artisans.
I have attached pictures of the Cauvery Emporium in M.G.Road,Bengaluru. It is situated at the M.G.Road-Brigade Road Junction. It is just few minutes away from the M.G. Road Metro station.
Official website-click here
Also at Jayanagara(Bengaluru),Mysuru,New Delhi,Secunderabad,Mangaluru and Hubballi.
So,what are you waiting for?! Pick out an indigenous and authentic product of Karnataka as your souvenir. Worth the cost you shell out.

To reach airport from central
1. Ola/uber 400-500, direct and hassle free and economical if multiple luggages/people..takes 30 mins(autos /local taxis might cause a problem sometimes, so come walking a bit towards main road)
2.taxis right in front of main entrance, would charge more than app taxis ,based on demand
3. CHEAPEST ( quite convenient too , if alone and not with much luggage)..
walk towards state bank bus stand/ wenlock hospital(buses start from state bank bus stand and pass across the opposite side of wenlock hospital), get a bus towards bajpe , ₹15...30-45 mins .. from airport stop on the highway(base of the hill) to top/terminal , autos will charge 30-40₹, 3 mins... Buses are quite fast(in fact, too fast than local transports of major cities, so time would be similar to taxis)

The food @ MAQ-Mangalore Central sucks. Food is available only on PF#1.
There's hardly anything for the vegetarians. If brave enough you can try the rock-hard idlys.
If you are heading to Bangalore by 16518/16524 from PF#3, make sure to buy something @ PF#1.

What else you can expect? It's always a better idea to either carry home foods or survive on cookies, cakes, than to eat station, train foods & become ill.

Mangalore is the chief port city in the Indian State of Karnataka and is not to be confused with Bangalore which is the capital of Karnataka.

Situated on the west coast of India, Mangalore is bounded by the Arabian Sea to the west and the Western Ghats on the eastern side.
The city is the fourth largest in the
State and is critical since it gives access to the Arabian Sea. The best months to visit this city are between December and February when the humidity and heat are at their lowest.

Places of interest include Sultan Battery, Kadri Manjunath Temple, Light House-Hill Garden, Mangaladevi Temple, Kadri Park and St. Aloysius Church among others.
