Wadala has always been a place know for school and colleges. It also has one of only transportation museum of Mumbai. It is situated on harbour railway line and has a history of over 200 years. Earlier this place was included in Dadar suburn. Some of the other such interesting facts about Wadala are

2 Worlds first methane generation plant was setup in ackworth hospital complex in wadala.


3 Dadar–Matunga–Wadala scheme of 18th century was the first planned suburban scheme in Bombay by East India company.


4 During 1890’s people of Mumbai was suffering from plague and then British government decides to shift around 85000 people from central Mumbai to Wadala
5 The BEST transport museum is also located in wadala’s Anik Bus depot. it features amateur mini models at BEST buses and the ancient trams.

7 st. Dominic Sovio church is located in wadala east. this church was built in 1981, was the first of Mumbai’s churches to be situated on the first floor.

8 At Wadala East there is a bay, which is known for rare flamingos who arrives here during winters. So, that this bay is popularly a known as flamingo bay.

9 Near the wadala station, it has over 400 years old vitthal temple built by Sant Tukaram. Idol of lord Vitthal was brought by Sant Tukaram from Pandharpur
