ForeverLoveforERSWDM3A~ 956 blog postsConsidering the somewhat aggressive schedule of this train, why cant they provide ERS ALco twins for this train. At least provide an E loco. The WDP4D is struggling to accelerate I feel due to the load.
WDP4D is more than capable enough to haul a 22 coach LHB or 24 coach ICF rake.
All the trains in YPR-Salem route ( via HSRA) are running with E-loco. Only this train is still running with diesel end to end. Not sure of the reason. So much fuel wastage. The schedule from Salem till YPR can definitely be speeded up. For the last one year or so the train has never reached Hosur or Carmelaram on time ( avg delay 1 hr daily) but because of the huge slack ends up reaching YPR either on time or with a small delay of 10-15 min only
The reason is the electric loco shortage of SWR. They don't want any WAP4 and now concentrating on the Hubli route to electrify more trains.

ERS WDP-4D #40101 ready to haul our 16527 Yesvantpur-Kannur Express. We were traveling to Palakkad, and the train maintained an excellent run despite having a delayed start. For the first time in my memory, the train reached before time at Palakkad (PGT).
P.S: High time that this train got a P7. Really sad to see that this is the only train to run with Diesel loco in the Hosur section.

How did u post that loco , its number and shed ? I tried in one of my post but that didn't appeared in post.
While posting the blog there is an option to add the loco type, shed and number. Enter the details and press "add" button. If need to the detilas after posting, please go to "actions" and select "add tag" and follow same process mentioned above. Hope this clarifies.....

The loco is LKO WDG 4D 70530 which I couldn't add in my post.
I think there must be some system on IRI that till we reach a specific number of ratings then we would be able to add loco details too.
