Thanks. Except for winters, 12002 - 20173 is an excellent chain for Delhi-Jabalpur.
Leave NDLS by 6 am and reach JBP by 7.45 pm. Faster than MPSK in terms of time taken with ~50 min buffer at RKMP station

But a complete sitting 12hr+ journey is going to be so tiresome :/
I can bet this VB was extended to Rewa SOLELY because of POLITICAL REASONS. The extension was obvious, and essential as it was directly competing with Janshatabdi, and people are bound to prefer 12061/2 as VB saved nothing more than an hour.
But, Rewa came into the picture because of the local MLA. He used to talk about and try to appease the local populace when the VB was not even inaugurated from JBP. Hence, just so that the citizenry of Rewa get to experience this contemporary railway technology, the MLA and current Dy. CM of MP asked for an extension to Rewa to save upon his votebank.

Mostly dinner is served after jbp but if you want before jbp and the staff is good they will give you before
Snacks and dinner are provided for Rs 308. Couldn't understand why they need to provide dinner at 1900 itself for JBP arriving at 1950 which is early for dinner. Traveller can as well have it in his house.

Yes opt out I'd you returning to your home. Short journey u can buy some snacks from PF and save Rs 300. Select no food as option.
