Another Day, Another Important Train of Central Railways Goes LHB 😪

This time its the number of 12139/40 Mumbai Nagpur Sewagram SF Express which got LHB Rakes from 25.05.2024 from Nagpur as 12140 and 26.05.2024 i.e Today,

...
Originally in its ICF Era. it had 4 GS, 12 Sleeper 5 3rd AC, 1 Second AC Coach, Consisting of 24 Coaches, which has been reduced to 22 Coaches in LHB, also including the drastic reduction in Sleeper Coaches, which jumped from 12 to 4, which is pretty disappointing, Oh well. nothing much can be done Now, Hopefully Railways reduced Sleeper Coaches by maybe 4 or 5 Coaches more.

The Loco which brought 12140 was AJNI/WAP-7/37575. While returning, Today's link is BSL WAP4 22876.

Thanks for reading my blog.

Yes. Last ICF of the beloved dedicated connection to Nagpur.
Though slow this train is offers connectivity between smaller stations of vidarbha.
In fact, 12140 is departing as LHB tomorrow itself from NGP. So technically, tomorrow's departure from csmt is the last ICF.

Nagpur-CSMT Sevagram Express will run with LHB coaches Ex Nagpur w.e.f. 26.5.2024 while 12139 CSMT– Nagpur Sevagram Express will run w.e.f. 27.5.2024.

Revised Composition: Total 22 Coaches-Two AC-2 Tier, 12 AC-3 Tier Economy, 4 Sleeper Class, Three General Second Class including Guard’s brake van and one Generator Van.
*LHB Rakes*-
Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coach is a passenger coach developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany. It has been adopted by Indian Railways and produced by rail coach manufacturing units at Kapurthala, Chennai and Raebareli.
It has multiple advantages over the conventional ICF rakes such as :
•Lighter and Longer than ICF coaches
•Better Speed
•Safer ( They do not climb on the adjacent coach in case of derailment)
•Enhanced seating capacity
•Fitted with Bio Toilets
•Efficient braking at higher speeds
•Better air conditioning
•Economical and low maintenance cost
Replacement of ICF coaches with LHB coaches is another step by Railways towards providing better travelling experience to its passengers.

Yes , 6 or 7 SL coaches minimum should have been there , Even then there was still space for 9 or 10 3E coachesto be there in the formation, but they have given 12 3E coaches. Sewagram has many stops too. Also 12289/90 Duronto daily train is already running with 12 3A coaches .
