This will increase the line capacity and enable the introduction of additional trains to meet public demand. The affected trains include the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Intercity, Gorakhpur-Ashbag Intercity, and several other long-distance trains. Some trains will be diverted via Gorakhpur-Bhadhani-Gonda and others will be diverted via Chhapra-Audahihar-Varanasi-Jaunpur-Shahganj-Ayodhya Cantt-Barabanki. (02569), Barouni-New Delhi Clone Special (02563), and the Maury Express (15027) were stranded between Barouni, Samastipur, and Siho. Passengers at various stations engaged in heated exchanges with railway staff due to the train delays. Passengers also complained about trains being halted without valid reasons. The goods train was en route to Narayanpur Anant when its engine stalled near Siho station. The loco pilot and train manager notified the operating department, requesting a replacement engine. This led to the temporary halt of all trains on the up line. The replacement engine was brought from Narayanpur Anant and arrived at the site around 8:45 AM. The goods train was then towed away by the new engine towards Narayanpur Anant at 9:25 AM. Following this, the halted trains resumed their journeys.

From September 2nd to 4th, 25 trains will operate on the Gorakhpur-Barhani-Gonda rail route.
