The 11055 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Gorakhpur Express (July 22nd) will be rescheduled to depart at 13:55 instead of 10:55. The 01027/01028 Gorakhpur Dadar Special will be canceled from July 14th to 21st. The 15065/15066 Gorakhpur Panvel Express will be rerouted via Bhopal, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vasai Road, and Panvel from July 14th to 22nd. The 15067/15068 Gorakhpur Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur Express (July 17th) will be rerouted via Bhopal, Ratlam, Vadodara, and Surat. The 20104 Gorakhpur Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express (July 21st) will be rerouted via Itarsi, Narkhed, Badnera, and Bhusaval, bypassing Khandwa station.

Currently, MEMU trains are routed via Mathela to Bhusawal for maintenance. The new system will also allow trains to access Platforms 1, 3, and 6, reducing time spent on shunting and avoiding delays caused by manual operations. This computerized system is expected to significantly decrease the chances of accidents. The schedule for Khandwa-Sanawad MEMU and Bhir Shuttle trains has been suspended until July 22nd, with individual train schedules being adjusted daily. Trains traveling via Khandwa to Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar will operate as per schedule until July 8th. However, six trains, including the 11057 CMS-Amritsar Express, 22177 CMS-Banaras, 12720 Hyderabad-Jaipur, 22538 LTT-Gorakhpur, 12628 Nanded, and 22130 Ayodhya Cantt-LTT will experience delays on July 8th and 9th.

The goods train was loaded with gravel and had been parked at Khandwa station the previous night without an engine. The absence of wheel chocks caused five wagons to roll onto the loop line, leading to the derailment. The collision with an overhead equipment pole caused power disruption in the affected section. While the main line was restored, repairs are ongoing on the loop line. The incident impacted several trains, including the 12149 Danapur-Pune Express, 22177 Mahanagari Express, 22538 Kushinagar Express, 10557 Pathankot Express, 12720 Hyderabad Jaipur Express, 09073 Bandra-Patna Express, and 12141 Lotiit-Patliputra Express, causing delays of over an hour.
