The on-board food is very mediocre indeed considering the Duronto is touted as such a big deal.
Meal 1: Tea, a tasteless cheese sandwich, salted peanuts and a pera (sweet) at 1745, soon after departure from CST Mumbai.
Meal 2: Tomato soup + Non-veg / veg meal starting at 1900. The veg option is paneer. Non-veg is a terrible chicken curry. Mysteriously there was no option for egg-curry. The usual bulletproof chapati accompaniment with sweet curd follows. No ice cream. Fortunately I had a packed burger from Cafe Churchill of colaba!

more... 3: Bed tea at 0600 the next day - Most people skipped this one
Meal 4: Breakfast at 0930 of tea with idli/sambhar (veg) or bread/omlet (non-veg). Not too bad, really.
Meal 5 (see photo): Lunch at 1300 (soup service starts at 1200). Same choices and menu as dinner the previous night except (1) the soup was sweet corn (2) the chicken tasted better (3) ice cream present. I had asked the staff to preserve an omlet for me (from breakfast leftovers) in place of the chicken but that did not materialise.
Meal 6: Tea, an inedible khasta kachori, a laddoo and those horrible haldiram batter coated peanuts at 1700.
