Restoration of 10 km lengthabondened BG line between Vejandla(in GNT..TEL SECTION). and Tsundur(TEL-BPP section) is very much need of the day as it opens the doors for putting GNT/NGNT station on the main line. More express trains can be diverted on this route via NGNT/GNT stations reducing traffic congestion on TEL junction for Goods trains also.
Keeping in view the growing importance of Guntur City(Capital District of Andra Pradesh) RESTORATION of this small stretch will be a vital in GNT Division of SCR.

Hope our Political leaders and all concerned will put their BEST EFFORTS to restore VEJANDLA--TSUNDUR line.

But what will be the benefit with this short line? Bypass lines are usually constructed to bypass busy, congested stations or to avoid reversals. TEL is neither congested, nor do trains from south towards GNT need a reversal at TEL. This line will not even help decrease congestion as instead of waiting at TEL for mainline clearance, now trains will have to wait in the outer of some small station for clearance. While it does save around 30 min journey time, it is also skipping a major junction where a lot of passengers get down to transfer to other trains. I feel there is no practical benefit of skipping TEL to save 15 km.
Currently, about 34 trains

run daily in the TEL-GNT section ( including UP and DN trains and merging weekly trains running in the same slot into one train). While that is high for a single line, it's very less for a double section. Once this line is doubled, more trains can be run on GNT-TEL without fear of congestion and once the MPS on the BZA-GNT-TEL section is increased, then run time can also be reduced.

Circar was through GNT almost from the beginning itself. It was introduced right after the GNT-KCC-BZA, and BZA-GDV-BVRT gauge conversion, which was completed sometime in 1963-65. You can see this in this old SCR schedule from 1977 shared by Mani Vijay Sir on IRFCA :

I remember circar running from MSB-Kakinada some 15 years back
With light maron colour livery coaches
I dont know why the member is very specific abt TEL
Insted if that bypass is helpful to avoid reversal for OGL-BZA trains at GNT will be a advantage...but that is highly impossible as we now got New GNT.

Thanks fr the clarification.
I can understand ur concern is to provide GNT with much better traffic of south bound trains by providing the 10kms abandoned linkage which reduces the little round about in TEL - GNT line therfore skipping TEL. But TEL connectivity is also equally imp as it serves whole Krishna Delta. Moreover doubling of TEL-GNT and MPS increasing in BZA-GNT is already in progress , the prime motive being improving and increasing connectivity to GNT (the new capital area).
