We requested to augment all the existing trains to ICF 24/26 COACHES or LHB 21 /23 COACHES from destination to destination or sectional coaches up-to the major terminal.
Example:
We requested to operate sectional coaches from Chennai Central to Pune in CHENNAI CENTRAL- Mumbai Mail ,Chennai Central-Mumbai expresses and CHENNAI EGMORE- DADAR expresses .Very meager 3AC coaches are operated in these trains such that Mail and Express have lone 3AC and in Dadar 2 nos of 3AC Coaches are attached.So requested to augment further 3 nos of 3AC Coaches

in all + 3 nos of sleeper in all up-to PUNE from CHENNAI as sectional coaches.
These two trains shall be augmented from ICF 18 Coaches to 24/26 COACHES to avoid terminal congestion in Mumbai up-to PUNE.
It is very difficult to book Chennai Metro to Pune Mini Metro.
Mostly Pune bound passengers are Compelled to book up-to Kalyan.
Till date no direct trains are operated from PUNE to CHENNAI /Bangaloru /Thiruvananthapuram.
So in all the south bound trains from Mumbai/Ahmadabad some sectional coaches should be added from Pune Mini Metro to the TAMILNADU,KERALA and KARNATAKA.
So no new trains are needed in Mumbai to Chennai /Bangaloru /Thiruvananthapuram sector and thus avoid congestion of the existing lines.

Agree to the point, DR-MS is only of 18 coaches and it does have the capacity to augment by 6 coaches while the originating station can be shifted to LTT. MUMBAI-CHENNAI has one of the poorest and slowest connectivity through rail among metros.

though it was very unpopular, SMB (Side MiddleBerths) should be introduced again as I now feel given all seats as Side Lower are given to RAC passengers (2 on 1)
Especially for trains departing running in range of 10 pm- 7am.
It would increase capacity, decrease WL and save passengers from sharing seats (RAC)

During 2009 I frequently travel to Chennai Egmore from Thanjavur by Rockport express extended portion.Due to side middle birth most of the W/L confirmed. Moreover so many youngsters occupy them self in the sub-lower berth .
It provides additional revenue. SO SOME BUSIEST ROUTES THIS SUB-MIDDLE BIRTH MAY BE RE-INTRODUCED .
