Original Mumbai is what Mumbai is for many people, migrants or otherwise.
navi Mumbai is considered by many as a kind of distant suburbs, for some reason, despite the really good connectivity it has towards Mumbai.
Stayed there for over three years, really nice place, much calmer than Mumbai (where i have also stayed for long periods of time)

May be people don't want to travel long to get out of the main Mumbai city to go to navi Mumbai
That isn't the case, the whole IT industry population is in navi mumbai, still it isn't as diverse as Mumbai is.
