vinodmarar 9 blog postsI had reserved a ticket for journey from Tirupathy-Palakkad for 15-09-2011 on Kerala Express, Class-3A. The ticket got confirmed. But unfortunately I had to cancel the ticket. When I tried to cancel the ticket on 14-09-2011, the system said that the ticket cannot be cancelled as the chart is now prepared. Hence I had to file a TDR stating the reason as "Passenger not travelled" on 14-09-2011 at 09:47 a.m.. Could anyone help me know what amount will I get as refund and how can we calculate same?

Dear Nazeer, In the case of very long distance trains, tickets for short length of journey between intermediate trains get confirms at tthe time of chart preparation at the train originating station. In the case one has to cancel the ticket only through TDR, selecting the reason that Chart prepared at previous station, and passenger not willing to travel (worded something like this. In case it is not confirmed then it will show the current wl status and the words 'chart not prepared'. In the case the tickets can be cancelled online
