31 years is a long long time for any machine..These grandpas have already served IR well, its time to say GOODBYE to them !!

why railways have given contract for so many new diesel engines like wdg 4g and wdg 6g what will be the use of it when all routes will get get electrified in 4 - 6 years i think they should have taken contract for electric loco as the future of diesel engine is gonna finish in 6 or 10 years completely. !!!SIMPLY WASTING MONEY AND THEN SAYING "RAILWAY GHATE ME CHAL RAHA HAI SAHAAB"!!... WHAT WILL BE WDG 4G BE DOING ??!!! SHUNTING?!!??
Its not that easy. A lot of complexities need to be addressed. Bringing 100% electrification on ground reality is gonna take much more time and will stop at 98%-99% only in reality owing to geographical and economic constraints.. Even after this figure is touched, a lot of other factors need to be addressed like...
1. Compensatory eloco fleet to replace diesel traction.
2. Trained electric crew to operate in newly electrified sections.

Also, diesel is more versatile. I mean diesel is more adaptable to adverse conditions.
