Yes exactly...this is somewhat similar timings to that train which used to leave PGT in morning around 5-5:30.....only difference was that train was a passenger with more stops i guess. But neverthless a good move
PGT RMM passenger (Metre gauge) used to leave by 1800 and reach by 0500. Had sleeper coaches. This was a very convenient train for entire Kerala. Link express for MAQ PGT and Jayanti for TVC to PGT were the connecting trains.
For CBE RMM ((Metre gauge), there used to be one daytime passenger and one night express. Day passenger used to start by 0700 reach RMM by 1800 and night express used to leave by 2230 and reach by 1030. Other than these, PGT MDU had 2 trains and CBE MDU had 3 trains. Now, none of these are running.

There used to be two pairs of trains. One had a similar schedule to Amritha right now. Coimbatore had only one connection with Rameswaram which was an overnight express which also had slip coaches from Palakkad.
Coimbatore had daytime trains running upto Madurai.

Would be better if instead of just taking over the RSA with Boat Mail, with the rake of Amritha at RMM they can bring in another overnight daily to MAQ/ERS/CBE.
Punalur Madurai upgraded expresses also extended to RAMESWARAM ,
