"The main work Tarakeshwar – Bishnupur (82.47 Km) – New line - Work was sanctioned in 2000-01 and cost of the project is Rs 480.68 Cr. Tarkeshwar –Goghat (33.94 km) New line – Commissioned on 06.03.2016 Mayonapur – Bishnupur (22.68 km) New line – Commissioned on 16.09.2012 Section Goghat – Kamarpukur (5.50 km) was completed during 2018-19 except 950m stretch where the work is stopped by local villagers at Bhabadighi pond for last 4-5 years. State Govt. is pursued repeatedly. Balance section (a) Kamarpukur – Jairambati (3.30 KM) falling in Hoogly District. Land in 0.755 Km handed over to Rly and balance 2.545 Km land acquisition done but compensation has not been distributed. Balance in 17.05 Km entire land is handed over to Railway. Yes you are very true that this will be the shortest route for Bankura/Purulia region from Howrah and once the Express Rain will start running from Howrah to Bishnupur can reach by 2 hr 15 minutes and Bankura by 2hr 40 minutes and Purulia 3 hr 15 minutes.
