First AC fare in most premium trains is already above airfare.

The fares will be 10% -20% higher then the present Duronto/ Rajdhani highest flexifare. For a 700km journey the fares in Duronto are Rs 1690 Rs 2360 for 3AC and 2AC without catering charge and the capacity of Duronto with 10 3AC 4 AC 1AC is 950 berths while the VB sleeper has 823 traveler berths.

To make VB sleeper more commercially viable, 1AC should not be there in the train in the first place itself.
