If it still goes via Lucknow (which it will), then this Jalebi route will make it a failure I think.
That is an exceptionally long route and barely needed for end to end passengers. GKP-ALD is best served by an overnight train and that will continue to remain the first choice since VB will also take roughly the same time[ maybe ~30 mins or so lesser].
The shortest route b/w GKP-ALD is via Ayodhya-Sultanpur-Pratapgarh. But that route hasn't been developed yet. One ICE runs via that route but even that terminates at Basti instead of going all the way to GKP.

It wud hav been better if they extended it to Patna... Frm gkp end ... Or to Agra from lko end...
Yes, Lucknow and Patna Jn can use connectivity, though an Intercity runs via this same route as of now [ but has really bad timings]. If nothing, they should extend it upto Kanpur. There are numerous trains b/w GKP and Lucknow [ Barauni Mail, two Intercities in the morning] already. However, connecting Ayodhya to Kanpur might fetch it even more passengers. Given the amount of time it stands at Lucknow, it can easily be extended upto Kanpur, at least.
