DanielSebastian~ 4246 blog postsI've noticed that the composition for 12704 and 12703 don't seem to fit the norm. Ideally 12704 runs with CC -( ENG - EOG -GEN -H1- A1- A2- B1 - B2 -B3 - B4 -B5 -B6 - B7 - B8 - PC - S1 - S2 - S3 - S4 - S5 - S6 GEN - SLR - HCPV), undergoes Reversal at VSKP and continues to HWH. But 12703 runs with reverse composition as mentioned above, starting from HWH i.e S6 is at the start, when it should be the reverse .I've checked official sites and it seems like this is infact the case. Can anyone explain what is going on here? So does SRC CDO rearrange these coaches to be in this order? I've seen similar patterns happen to Chennai Mail and Coromandel, but not for SMVB HWH SF. I've want to confirm a lot of thoughts regarding SER and...

Maybe different rakes have different CC. These days CC of most long distance daily trains seems to be all messed up. I have been noticing this in Goa express to recently even when it was in ICF rakes.
I don't think they will rearrange coaches or renumber at HWH as it will change again at SC to GDR. SRC only does SM for the rake. As Coromandel, Mail and HWH SMVT are operated by SER AC coaches start from terminal end though numbering will be from front EnG side for these 3 train and train reverses at Vskp and AC coaches go to front.
It makes sense for diverted rakes and also if the rake composition is reverse. It means that the rake composition is just not consistent. Even for 12704 then. Also for SER, considering their record on horrible maintenance, that would be a futile task to deliberately shuffle the coaches.
That would be a task to take up by SER considering how horribly they maintain trains, be it SM and PM from their end.
