Travelling in 22450 3E. What a pathetic coach this is. First experience of 3ac economy and probably the last. Whole arrangement is weird seats are of worst quality and painting done in all coach is completely 3rd class. My adjacent coach however looks comparatively decent as we saw economy class when it was inducted into services. But this one probably the new version is certainly a pathetic one in every aspect. The price is 100 or 150 less then 3rd ac. Loot khasot machi hui hai.

Length is the same It's only the width of the coupe berths and leg space which is decreased. The side berths arrangement is same that of SL which start right from the door and end right before the door. 3ACE is designed for SL passengers to upgrade to AC classes and not for 3AC to degrade they should upgrade to 2AC for comfort and should not complain. One mistake the RB has done is stopping 3AC production citing bedrolls provision in 3ACE and fixing of fare 7.5% less then 3AC which should be 20-25% cheaper.

3E ko Garib Rath trains me use karna chahiye not in SF or M/E trains.
True. Many trains have had their whole crop of 3A coaches changed to 3AE. So basically it's either 2A or nothing.
Agree with you for Garib Rath trains and should be in addition to 3AC for replacement of SL and not remove 3AC from the LHB fied rake. It's ok for short distance region overnight by way of replacement of SL but the grave mistake is replacement of 3AC by 3ACE in long distance trains with 2/2 days and nights.
As far as LB, MB and UB is concerned, there is not much issues wrt height and is very much manageable. Side berths length has decreased notably and can equate to length of ICF sleeper class.
