Reasons are simple. To make newly launched VBs successful, all efforts are being made.
Few of them include
a. spoil other trains by extending them to Timbaktoo
b. reduce speed of other trains,
c....
more...
shift other trains to useless terminals like SMVB,
d. make reservation quota complex
e. Keep other good trains' start or end timings at ghost hours
f. Make RSA in such a way that trains get perinally delayed so that frustrated people can get onto VB
