Probably the thing we need to do here is to put a foot down and say we are not going to buy tickets from the touts. Or complain to the consumer court ... I am planning to do that as soon as I get a chance ... fortunately have not been waitlisted. But surely ther is no quick fix.
Easy to say... great ... India me sab rote hain .... aapne bhi bol diya ... kuchh kiya kya ? ... Try once ... you will feel better as I did....

I was travelling on a train from Mumbai to Satna. Had Witohout ticket / WL travellers in my compartment who used to come and occupy any berth. Some of them were indulging in surrogate eve teasing. I tried arguing with them ... then with the attendents and the TTEs ... nothing happened ... on reaching khandwa Idid not allow the train to proceed ... how ?... there was a change of TTEs at that station ... I did not let the aligting person talk to the new one freely ... I went to station master and said train will not proceed till the issue is resolved. Finally was able to get the guys out of the compartment .... not without intimidations and arguments though ... they said things like ... will see you in Itarsi / Jabalpur and will let you know who you are etc ... but nothing happened.
I have not been able to solve the problem but did something ....

Its very well understood that we should not take tickets from touts but all depends upon the importance of the journey
Normally nobody wants to go to the touts but the imbalance demand and supply curve leads to them.
Some people travel in AC reason smoking and drinking options are better than sleeper class when dictated the rules and punishment they reply 50-100 mein nipat jata hai aur aage pine ka bhi chut mil jata hai

major question is how to balance demand and supply . when we see ir is fail to increase the supply according to demand.
today is in news column metro is run with pvt partner .
why not ir run with pvt partner. if some body raise a question on privatization. i am very strange
