We all know that railways has started GC on Ratlam -Indore section first, but just few facts:
RTM - INDM = 118 km, shortest route by BG currently is 176km, By doing GC It Saves 58 km.
INDM - KNW = 142 km, shortest route by BG currently is (217km + 275km) ( INDB-BPL + BPL-KNW), By GC on this section Saves 350km.

Some more valid arguments:
1. Well...KNW connects to BSL, MMR..which inturn have many more routes than BCT-NDLS, and you can still connect to RTM with just additional 58 kms
2. Indore could be a passing station for many trains running north -south, west-south, west-south east..and so on and thus Indore could have been connected to many more cities.

pt 3: correction: Distance for Trains running towards south from Indore will significantly reduce
anyways they will have to work together some point of time..to me looks like zone politics..bcz..once INDM-KNW conversion is done, some CR route trains will ply and Indore's revenue share which is very high in WR will go to CR and other regions. I bet the conversion from MHOW-KNW will take years for the same reason.
why these zonal officers get into politics? I thought they can be transferred, so one person who is in CR can go to WR? So whats fun in playing defensive politics. It may turn out you are transferred to other zone whose interests you acted against.
