People are saying that this degraded to a bailgadi now...i agree to this but the halts has no hands behind this.
Howrah to chennai is nearly 1650km and 11 halts for this distance,its enough and required..
But yes,i agree to the point that its cleanliness and pantry service is worst in this region. This can be remedy by giving lhb or new CBC coaches to this SER king.

You are absolutely right. I think there is a fundamental issue with the SER maintenance wing being lazy. SL is better in Puri exp than 1AC. I will post some pics when get a chance. :-(
saw the link.. now i avoid traveling in SL, rather prefer to travel by 3A. And also I stopped traveling by 2S prefer travel by CC in case of day time travel
I think from the time RSA with Chennai Mail was started there is hardly any time to do maintenance at Chennai. In case Coromandel reaches late at Chennai, departre from Chennai by Chennai mail gets delayed. The reverse scenario is even bad. Chennai mail arrives at 4.30 am and leaves as coromandel at about 9. When Chennai mail was earlier part of Southern railway and Coromandel was part of SER things were bit better
I had also traveled in both mas mail and coromandal from bza to bls in all classes except general & 1a of mail and general of coromandal.......sleeper was same,i.e rusty,old,torn out,without plugs,stinky toilets and full of north east,bengali,odiya,bihari stinky labour class youth roaming here there without t-shirts.....
But a.c classes were not that bad......linens,electricity, attendents,pantry boys were good....in 1 a.c of coromandal,in my cabin,there was a couple who deboarded at vskp...after that the attendent came....and offered me for company to drink alcohol.....:-O:-O....u can imagine how much the attendent are caring if u travelling in coromandal....:->

Agree with you . The migrant labourers travelling to South is increasing so much on day to day basis, tht nowadays families are preferring to travel by AC. Its high time that a Jansadharan train is introduced between East and South. Most of these people depsite having tickets are not able to understand where to board, which is their seat no etc.....cant balme them also. They also require comfort hence prefer to reserve tickets
