Hi, Is it possible to book the tickets even though the status showing is REGRET by going to ticket window? I am doing so because I have already got one ticket but that is on the name of my lady friend and I don't want to take risk of arguing with the Ticket checker about that later.
Alternate suggestions are also welcome.

If your friend has a confirmed seat/berth and he is travelling, you can adjust with him and use the seat/berth. If he is not travelling, TTE will allot the seat to RAC passenger.
