That is one reason but another main fact is the timing of new AC express if it arriving in early hours at MAS then demand would have been totally different.The timings of MAIL are very good.But both the trains are maintained in worst possible way

new trains will always be pushed in b/w existing slots...so they'll always be having weird arrival/dep timings & that is the reason why their popularity cant increase...as of now from VSKP side only 2 train can arrive MAS in morning...i.e. GHY SBC Slot & HWH MAS Mail...remaining are arriving afternoon/evening/night

Thats the main pbm apart from MAS mail nothing caters the need GHY-SBC no quota and train does not run on time mostly

One main reason for the same is sharing of slots and catering to multiple locations. This is the new mantra of railways....they can earn money and at the same time cater to different regions. At least during the last 3 budgets most of the trains on important routes seem to be started on weekly basis and slowly be made weekly /biweekly.
