Lets wait and see when the real impact of Electrification is achieved i.e. increase in speed of the trains which get hauled by Eloco... :-)

Has there been any news regarding plans of using electric locos in trains plying between Delhi and Lucknow like Lko mail, Lko Duronto or AC express etc?

I think IR can pull those trains originating from Delhi which take LKO BSB (Via Sln) route. Changing a loco typically takes upto 20 or 25 minutes and most of the trains halt at MBD for 10 minutes, so even if 10 to 15 minutes will be wasted in changing the loco, but trains like Shramjeevi might save upto an hour upto BSB.

I think that no Electric Locos will start plying on MBD-LKO-BSB route till the winters are over. This I believe will be done to avoid any technical issues cropping up and adding to the delays already caused by fog.

Wait till mid of february and there will certainly be some update. By then the fog issue will come to an end and it will be an ideal time to start the electric engines on this section.
