I can't elaborate or provide proof since I have only put forward my choice of trains from this newspaper piece. Let's wait for the official press releases by the respective zonal railways :)

but then how many seats remain for nagpur passangers. BTW nanded has a dedicated connectivity with punjab but nagapur does not have such connectivity. Chattisgarh express is a crawler and is not meant for long journey passangers.
Another thing is the waiting list in AC classes in existing trains is high enough for a dedicated AC express?
In fact for ned asr connectivity it would be better if a new train is considered via the route of 12485 nanded shri ganga nagar superfast. This will avoid the super busy ngp et route

Nagpur to Amritsar AC train will run empty. Just check how good Chhattisgarh Exp (only train between NGP and ASR) AC occupancy is there. You will get waiting of 1 or 2 in AC 1 Tier, waiting of less than 10 in AC 2 Tier, waiting of less than 20 in AC 3 Tier for coming 2-3 days. And this train is originated from Bilaspur, covering several big cities (Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai) but still has very poor occupancy. So imagine how disaster would be direct AC train from Nagpur to Amritsar considering there is no much traffic between these two cities?? That's why I think it can be extended to NED. I am sure in future it will be.

Re# 1610896-15
is it necessary that all ngp asr travellers are taking the chattisgarh . Rather one can take a superfast train to delhi and then proceed this way ngp asr can be done in 26-27 hours compared to 34 by chattisgarh. So if the AC express has a better schedule then it will get good response. Slightly unrelated note in INDB BSP sector most of the end to end traveller either travel to bpl to catch amarkantak superfast or take indb ngp express to ngp and then take gnyaneshwari or ajad hind to proceed to BSP, both these saves 4-5 hours compared to direct train which is significant imo

You mentioned so many ifs, buts to defend less response to Chhattisgarh Exp but Fact is that NGP has not that much passenger traffic to ASR.
