The station near the Secretariat, part of a multi-modal transport hub, will be integrated with bus and auto services. Other stations near Atal Nagar, Udyog Nagar, and Muktang are expected to be finished by December 2024. The project, originally scheduled for completion in December 2022, was delayed due to the pandemic and delays in obtaining track access from the Railway for electrification work. The station near the Secretariat is 80% complete and features include a shopping complex, integrated parking with bus and auto services, restaurants, and a 250-meter long railway platform. The project cost has escalated from ₹52 crores to ₹100 crores. The railway line is expected to significantly impact the development of Nava Raipur, connecting it to major cities like Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, and Bhilai. The first station in Nava Raipur will be located near Atal Nagar, about 2 km from Mandir Hasaud.
